How To Measure – Jackets:
To find your perfect fit, grab a jacket you already love and follow these simple steps. This will help you understand how McTavish jackets will fit on you.
All you need is a Tape Measure, a flat surface and your favourite jacket (to measure against).
Tip: All our measurements are in centimetres (CM) and are taken with the garment lying flat.
Body Length
Measure from the highest point on the shoulder (next to the collar) straight down to the bottom hem of the jacket.
Across Shoulder
Measure straight across from the outer edge of one shoulder seam to the outer edge of the other shoulder seam.
Across Chest
Lay the jacket flat and measure straight across the chest from one underarm seam to the other.
Hem Width
Lay the jacket flat and measure straight across the bottom hem from edge to edge.
Sleeve Length
Measure from the top shoulder seam (where it meets the sleeve) down to the end of the cuff.

Despite the name, Moleskin contains no actual mole fur—it's 100% Cotton! The name comes from its velvety, matte surface, which apparently resembles the coat of a mole.
Before denim took over as the workwear staple, Moleskin was the fabric of choice for European labourers, artisans, and tradesmen. Worn by French railway workers and stonemasons as early as the 19th century, it was prized for its incredible durability and comfort—tightly woven to block out wind and cold, then brushed for a soft, broken-in feel.
