Who we are after
We are calling in a Retail Manager who has the creativity and energy to take the lead in our Byron Bay store. This stoked individual will be naturally at home with people, surrounded by boards, fashion, hardware and surf history.
A hands-on person who wants to get in there and lead the team from the front line, but entrepreneurial enough to build foot fall, loyalty and sales conversion, whilst working as part of our omni-channel offering.

- 5+ years of relevant experience in sales or a related field.
What you’ll be responsible for
Delivering the Customer Experience
- Elevating customers service by providing ‘thoughtful expertise’.
- Curating the space via merchandising, conversation, furniture, F&B and music etc
- Providing personalised product via the McTavish Custom board offer
Managing the Product Offer
- Manage store inventory to ensure the range is relevant and supports sales
- Liaise with the board and apparel team to provide customer feedback
- Curating and ordering the 3rd Party product offering
Store Merchandising
- Develop creative product displays in-store across all product categories
- Bring our brand and product stories to life
- Keep the environment/displays fresh and interesting.
Staff Training
- Facilitate staff training sessions to inject product knowledge, expertise and story.
- Provide product testing opportunities to the team to increase product knowledge
- Fully induct staff into the store operation and ways of working
Business Development
- Liaise with the marketing team to implement a local area marketing program
- Create and execute an Event schedule to build store awareness and community
- Build the McTavish presence in the local community and industry
People
- Recruit and induct store staff as required
- Manage a roster for the store including casual members of retail staff
- Conduct Staff Performance Reviews.
Systems and Processes
- Enforce procedures for all retail functions via an Operations Manual
- Ensuring sales, stock processing and data entry in POS system is accurate
- Stock management - maintaining stock levels and conducting rolling stocktakes
Reporting
- Provide a weekly report on retail operations
