"A few months ago I came across a picture Tristan Mausse (a.k.a. Fantastic Acid) took of a street while he was on a shaping trip in Brooklyn. The blend of colours in the photo going from charcoal to brown, mixed with shades of beige and ochre really got me. So I snapped a screenshot and left it in the ideas box. Fast forward a few months, I was preparing the colour palette for our custom Bluebird series and found out how many complimentary combinations I could make with limited colours. I had two bluebirds in my racks and decided to make a mini-series with multiple assorted inlays, which turned out to be some of my favourites. Multiplying inlays is so fun to do. Like how far can you go type of thing!
A lot of love goes into them, as you have to work each inlay independently; prep, glass, cut precisely, then repeat the process. The end result is really elegant and pleasing to the eye. The simple cursive logo keeps it classy and the classic bluebird sits on the bottom this time. Alonzo framed it with only one thin pinline on the outside lap and Gabriel finished them with a polish."
