Job Summary:
McTavish is a fast growing company with functions across design, production, retail sales, wholesale sales, and food & beverage. Our brand enjoys a reputation for producing products of a very high quality standard across all these areas, combined with market leading customer service. This reputation for quality has its roots in the custom surfboards we manufacture in our Byron Bay factory. Ensuring this reputation is maintained is paramount to the ongoing success of the brand.
The surfboard department has been under production pressure throughout 2020, and more staff are required. We are seeking an exceptional board-builder with experience in one or more of the following fields; Lamination, Filler Coating, Gloss Coating, Glass-on leash loops & fins, Sanding, & Fin Rout & Install, spray white. The role will begin on a casual basis, but for the right applicant it will quickly be full time in nature, approximately 40 hours per week.
McTavish is a busy place, where things can change quickly, so a positive attitude and willingness to adapt within a fast-paced environment are crucial.
Duties and essential job functions:
- Communicate freely with other factory staff to assist a smooth flow of work
- Achieve or exceed quality standards as set by McTavish management
- Achieve weekly / monthly factory output targets
- Monitor and order materials and tools as required
- Attend weekly factory meeting
- Be flexible in works hours and work-flow fluctuations
- Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment
- Work to continually review and improve processes
- Quality control checking of your own work
Qualifications:
Required;
- Unrestricted Drivers License
- A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong and constructive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, at all times conveying a professional and positive image and attitude regarding McTavish
- Alignment with McTavish brand values
