The Original was the first McTavish model to be made by Surftech. We call it the Original because it was the original shape to come out under our Big M logo. Although Bob’s been shaping since 1962, the Original was his first totally reworked longboard design for the modern era. The Original introduced three-stage rocker and trim channels to the world. Its’ strong pivoty hips aligned with forward-mounted fins made it the loosest most reactive longboard ever, especially when combined with Tufflite’s featherweight construction. There are thousands of Original addicts all over the world, and the design remains the backbone of modern longboarding. Predictable, fast, loose and light, the Original is a great ride.
