Dave started surfing at Dee Why on a Morning Star 5’0” single fin pintail shaped by his brother Peter in 1977. He soon joined DY Surfing Fraternity and gained results in State and Australian Titles. He then left school and got involved in Carpentry, later to become a self employed builder on the Northern beaches of Sydney. Around 1996 Dave started riding malibus and Joined the Manly Malibu Boardriders Club and after many attempts, took the A grade title in 2006. During this time he also represented NSW at the Australian titles and gained a runner up result in 2002. At the start of 2010, Dave, his wife Laurie-Ann and their 2 kids moved from Nth Curl Curl up to Cabarita Beach and soon started working for McTavish Surf in our showroom. Dave likes to ride a wide range of boards from our selection  and his current quiver consists of an 11’ SUP,  9’6” Redline, a 9’1” UFO and 6’6” Bobsled. Loves ‘em all.
