Born into a surfing dynasty Ben McTavish picked up the planer at a very early age. Starting out at PCB in Ballina with Bob, Ben started out sanding fins, and spraying boards in order to get a foot in the door.

His design based mind soon had him in the shaping bay, learning from one of the worlds best. Ben shaped his first shortboard at the age of 15, and soon moved on to hand finishing a lot of Bob’s customs. Ben started his own successful shortboard label in ’93, and still shapes and surfs almost every day. Ben also operates our state-of-the-art APS300 shaping machine.

Ben is also a keen petrol-head, having owned and restored a string of Mopars. When he’s not in the surf you can catch Ben in his back-yard garage, restoring another classic.
