Customer Feedback from Mike Leason – Puerto Rico

I wanted to let you know how much I love the G2. I carried the new one I ordered from you with the rest of my heavy travel pack from Fiji to Australia on to the Mentawais through California, and back to Puerto Rico. In retrospect I wished I would have had you send it to me, but I was hoping that I might get the right conditions on that trip to be able to ride it in the right conditions.

These days I surf and sail all sorts of different equipment that makes sense for the wave and wind conditions I find at home.

When the surf gets solid at home in Puerto Rico the G2 is a perfect board for the conditions. It is so responsive that it will perform like a much shorter board in solid surf. There is so much more control on the take off. The weight of the board does real well with an offshore or side off wind that tends to make larger boards stall as you paddle into the wave. The profile of the board allows late drops that ordinarily would be punishing to a rider on a longer board. The exceptional tail rocker and the patented McTavish features of the tail section of the surfboard give the G2 a special looseness that is uncommon for bigger boards. This configuration allows the rider the ability to make effective bottom turns that can project them down the line of the wave where some real fun arching turns are possible. If the surf is hollow-- steep angled take offs go really well, and th e G2 will develop speed like the best Hawaiian gun to pass a steep walled up wave face with insane speed, or shoot you through a large pitching tube section.

The G2 is the best big wave board I have ever had, and I have broken my share. Like a lot of people I learned to surf on equipment that wasn't the best for technique or catching waves. In my 35 years of surfing I learned that the equipment makes a huge difference in a surfer performance. You're only as good as the smile on your face at the end of a session, but the right board in the right conditions will give you the best chance to surf at your potential and feel the results.

Hi Guys

Finally got an early NW swell that enabled me to ride the G2. Very impressed, this is the first time I have been completely confident in my equipment in sizable surf. Previously, I have always had to make allowances because of limitations in my gun's performance.

The size and dimensions are perfect. I can readily duck-dive and the board paddles fabulously, enabling me to get in early. I was a little nervous regarding the lack of rocker and the amount of volume in the nose, but these feelings were quickly dispelled. The board tracks beautifully, and holds a very steep and fast line. It come around perfectly off the bottom and cutting back. The board is clearly asking me to step-up my surfing, as its abilities in big waves are much greater than my own - nice!

Very happy that I went through the hassle of custom ordering all the way from Aus, as there is nothing in the States like the G2.
Regards,
