Collectable Cord

Thursday, December 06, 2012

Matty Chojnacki dropped by on Wednesday with this sweet looking Cord of Steve Montells' - very similar to Bobs own Batman board. A mystery as to who shaped it but we're thinking Bob or Kevin Platt. Its due for a little resto so once that heavy weight gel coat is gone it should reveal a signature. These are some of the best 'old mals' you can ride, the hippy template, low rocker and comparatively low rails (for the era) combine into a great trimming, noseriding and stall turning beast. This one is a little hefty at almost 15KG, which seems extra heavy, probably due to the salmon pink/egg shell blue gel coat treatment. A beautiful collectable from a great moment in time.

Dans New Noosa '66

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

My brother Dan loves an old-skool log and has just traded his 9'4" Involvement on this badboy - a 10'0" McTavish Noosa '66 - black pigment with a striped fabric insert on the deck. The deep polished black looks amazing and this is a small-wave specialty board, for the little days at Wategos. If you're interested in Dans old board, a 9'4" x 22 3/4" x 3" Involvement model - as new, check out our second hand boards in the online store - it'll be up there later on today.
