This months issue of Surfing World features a new McTavish advertisement with a fantastic image of Bob as a young lad - looking buff at Lennox in '76. We'll be working with SW on a full campaign this year so keep an eye out for the mag - there are some special photos coming up in future ads.

This interesting piece came into my inbox this week - its the 'surf comment' section from NZ Surf magazine from 1966. The piece on Bob says;

"We hear that top Australian surfer and shaper Bob McTavish has come over from Queensland to shape for Bob Davie in Gisborne. Bob McTavish is also well known for his articles in the 'Surfing World' Magazine. We will perhaps try to get him to write a few words for us"

In a couple of weeks time (Oct 21 - 23) Byron will be hosting its first ever dedicated surf festival. The event isn't about competitive surfing and will focus more on surfings influence in the art and music scenes, as well as a display of hand-made boards. Lots of great shapers like Simon Jones and Tom Wegener will attend the weekend, and Bob will be opening the festival on the Friday night (Oct 21st) at the Stone and Wood Brewery - so get to Byron for the weekend and enjoy a beer and some of Bobs tales on the night!
